Who are we and what do we do? Well, let me explain..
Off The Chart Promotions is a Cambridgeshire based company specialising in promoting the very best in unsigned and local music from the area. We do this in two ways, the first is by managing artists and providing them with the support, advice and financial backing to make a name for themselves through music releases and gigs. The second is by holding music events around the county with our own artists but also giving other musicians from Cambridgeshire and across East Anglia the opportunity to show case their own talent.
We were set up in August 2012 by Tim Willett, a local radio presenter for community radio station Cambridge 105 who wanted to be able to work more closely in the local music scene having featured the genre on his radio programme since the beginning of 2011 and our name comes from another project which Tim runs – an internet radio station ‘Off The Chart Radio’ which was established in 2004.
We’re currently working with two local artists, and you can find out more about these on their dedicated pages on this website but in a nut shell:
28 Boulevard are a 4 or 5 piece (depending on the occasion!) indie rock band from Cambridge, they’ve been together for a number of years playing local gigs and festivals and signed to us in September 2012. In the time we’ve been working with them, they’ve released a new EP titled ‘Pictures’ and held a successful EP launch event in the city of Cambridge as well as releasing the single download ‘Treat Me Like A Fool’. They are currently working on a brand new single titled ‘Logistics’ which will be released in March/April 2013 and will be accompanied by a music video.
Lucid are a 4 piece group from Huntingdon, originally formed as a duo between brothers Lucas and Matt Jones but added drummer Jacob Pett in August 2012 when they signed to us. They have spent the last 4 months writing and recording their debut self titled EP and on 11th January held a successful EP launch in Huntingdon. Their EP is available to download via iTunes, Amazon and Spotify and a music video is also on the way. In February 2013, the band added bassist Tom Brown.
Our policy is generally to work with young, up and coming talent so if you’re local and want to be considered for working with us – drop us a line!
Gigs wise, we host nights in collaboration with Cambridge 105 under the ‘New Music Generator’ banner including ‘The NMG Sessions’ at the Portland Arms, Cambridge and ‘The NMG Sessions Unplugged’ gigs.
We also host our own evenings, including our latest at The Bath House on Bene’t Street where we present an Acoustic evening every other Thursday from 9-11pm.
